A detection dog is a dog that is trained to use its sense of smell to detect a a specific odour. It is then taught to indicate that it has detected the odour. All types of odours are used, such as explosives, narcotics, termites, arson, cadaver, wild life, contraband, mold and even used today in cancer detection.
Everyone has there preference’s on the types of dogs used as well. We have trained the following breeds for detection dogs German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, Labradors, Beagles, Spaniels and will use the breed of dog that is best suited to the job. |
